LOGIC HAS
IT........
We ended the year with
a blast and now its full speed into 2001. A big word of THANKS
to everyone who helped
out with the All Club's Holiday Party and the REAL Millenium Party.
Both were a huge success
and very well attended. Since everyone seem to enjoy our
New Year's celebration
so much, we may have to do it again for this year's New Year's Eve.
We have a starter schedule
of events for the coming year, there will lots added as time goes along.
Looks like our next adventure is the Camp Dover Peace Conference and its
never too early to plan for that!
See ya next time,
Jonathan

At the All Club's Holiday
Party in December not only was a huge pile of
toys collected for the
U.S. Marines' Toys for Tots program, $110 was collected
during the party from
the U.S.S. Yorktown's raffle. The Marines were not only impressed,
they had a lot of fun
with us. We were told our group (in general) donates the most of all the
holiday festivities they are invited to. Attendance for the 2000 party
was 69!

This holiday season the
Camelot is sponsoring a local needy family.
Becky Jeter is the mother
of six school aged children all living
in an apartment. Her
oldest daughter is 8 1/2 months pregnant.
Becky works at the White
Castle in Franklin. This is her only job,
for supporting the family.
Her children:
Steven
- 17 years old (his exact clothing
size unknown, about a medium build)
Diana
- 16 years old She is 7 months
pregnant and will need baby items.
Dallas
- 11 years old Size 16 pants
Samantha
9 years old Size 10
TWINS - Joshua and Jeffrey are both 8 years old, both wear size 8 pants.
They like the same things
any other kids their ages like. They
especially love watching
movies.
Vicki collected $25 in
donations at the All Club's Christmas Party and
was able to get them
a Honey Baked Ham for Christmas Day Dinner.
Thank you to everyone
who contributed, Vicki Meece will continue to collect
donations, especially
any clothing. you contact her at either home

Thanks to everyone who
helped out with the Millenium Party on New Years Eve.
We also want to thank
the Fairfield Inn of Middletown for being so great to work with.
The party was a lot of
fun, we had well over 50 attendees and everyone seemed to really enjoy
themselves. It was a safe, fun way to ring in the New Year/Millenium with
friends.
Thanks also to Peggy
Feldhaus and the rest of the U.S.S. Yorktown NCC-1704-A
for the Dabo Gaming session,
it was really great. Most everyone in attendance
expressed an interest
in doing it again next December! So, keep it in mind!

The away mission to the
Maquis Gras event was a very successful one. The
advance team consisted
of Katherine Wilhite, Cindy Johnson, Vicki and Mark
Meece, Denise Downing
and from the U.S.S. Columbus, Doug Foulk. We launched
from Dayton at 0730 hrs,
had a smooth trip and arrived at the hotel in
Portage at 1200 hrs,
ahead of the Maquis crew. We used the extra time to
purchase supplies for
the mixer. Doug was a big help. He had driven all
the way to Portage and
then helped with the shopping. Back at the hotel,
the Maquis crew had arrived
so we assisted in set-up. The Camelot crew and
Doug assembled about
200 goody bags for registration. Then we set up chairs
for the night-club part
of the mixer. We had more room this year, with a
carpeted space with tables,
and then the dance floor separate. I would like
to thank everyone who
helped set up. They put up with my bossiness, and
everything was accomplished
in a timely and efficient manner. I would take
these folks on an away
mission anywhere.
The Maquis Crew invited
us to attend the Friday night Family dinner, where
we were well fed and
heartily thanked.
The Friday night mixer
was a well attended success. Everyone had a good
time. We were joined
by Camelot crew members, Peggy and Jason Champagne,
and Jonathan and Kelly
Steele. Kelly fired up the crowd by dancing with a
William Shatner stand-up
and several people soon followed suit. You know
when the Camelot crowd
is around there is never a dull moment.
The rest of the convention
was a good time. Barbara March (Lursa) is an
entertaining speaker.
The Maquis did say that next year they hope to have
Gwyneth Walsh (B'Etor)
who is also Barbara's real life long-time friend. At
Saturday night dinner
out, we embarrassed Doug as usual, but apparently not
too bad, because he has
joined us as an Associate Member.
Sunday morning we all
packed up and after breakfast, headed home to Dayton,
our reputation as the
coolest ship in the galaxy secure.

AWAY MISSION REPORT: VULKON 2000
By: Jeff Ross
The guests at VULKON were
outstanding. Even though Moogie couldn't make
it for health reasons,
Lolita Fatjo filled in for her during "The Ferengi
Family Hour." Also,
Mark Allen Sheppard (Morn) also showed up. In fact,
he, Max Grodenchik, and
Andreas Katsulas were in the bar and lobby
mingling with fans Friday
evening. Also, Mark showed up at my room party Saturday
night and he was true
to his role as Morn. In other words, he almost
made Bob O'Reilly look
like a tea totaller. But, he was cool the next day as
I caught him doing Tai
Chi in the autograph room.
On the subject of room
parties, the hotel was not too accommodating,
unfortunately.
They had some Nazi rent-a-cop going up and down the halls
telling everybody to
keep their doors closed (first con I ever saw this
happen) and I was told
my room was tripping the smoke detectors at the
front desk (yes, I paid
for a smoking room) which they said were wired to fire
department. But,
the alarm in my room didn't go off. Go figure.
Needless to say, I cut
the hotel a new one on the feedback form. I also let the
head honcho of VULKON
know my concerns about the hotel and asked him to
reiterate them for me
and other fans who shared them.
In summary, unless the
hotel becomes more accommodating to room parties or
a new hotel is used,
I'm not sure I would recommend VULKON for next year.
Jeff
References to Trek found in everyday life!
From T'Katherine:
Hello folks! Star
Trek continues to make its presence known all through
the culture. Here
are my latest finds.
1. Will and Grace:
After Grace has explained her superstition regarding
discussing their first
dates, Will replies "Very logical! Date long and
prosper!" Complete
with the Vulcan hand gesture.
2. Sunday Dayton Daily
News Business Section: In an article about a
locally owned woodworking
website, there is a photograph of one of the co-owners
standing near his computer,
a picture of the Enterprise D is the
wallpaper of his desktop.
3. Jay Leno monologue:
Jay is remarking on the diversity of Bush's
choices for his Cabinet
when he says "...here's the latest one, take a look."
Shows a film clip of
a Klingon speaking in Klingonese with English subtitles
saying how honored he
is to be the first Klingon to serve in the Cabinet.
I was laughing so hard
I didn't get the exact quote but it's something like
that. Jay likes
those Klingons, they are punch lines in his jokes quite
often.
Keep watching folks, they're out there!!
